Default Drivability Tech Question

Okay, I need some Nissan Tech advice. I recently had a Xterra towed in 3.3L a Timing belt issue. I find out the cyliders are hydro locked with fuel and long story short it took teeth from the timing belt. So I do plugs timing belt ect. Runs great for a week and comes back on a hook. Smells like gas again cylinders are all hydro locked again with fuel but belt is still in tack. I get it all back and running and it ran quite rough at idle but reved up ran smooth plenty power. I call the dealer and they ssy "oh this is a common problem it happen to us" So I send it in and the verdict is I have the timing belt off. So am feeling rather disappointted in myself but can't seem to figure out how being a tooth off could hydro lock the cylinders with fuel and go for a week without check engine lamp on . So my question is, is there really a problem with these like a fuel regulator or would being of one or two teeth cause this problem?

I would think the problem would be a fuel injector hanging open. For the cylinders to hydro lock there would have to be alot of fuel in the cylinder. If the engine was running after the timing belt replacement then I doubt that is the cause of the excess fuel. I have seen 2 do this. If you pull out the #1 spark plug the engine will usually star (why it does this I have no idea). The 2 that I saw we replaced fuel injectors and pressure regulator.

Thanks for your response. I went to work today and the owner brought the recipt in from the dealer. The tech said bank two cam was of two teeth off which I know was impossibile because I counted out the fourty teeth from B1 mark and B2 mark as part of my doubling checking on it. Funny part is they also sold him a fuel injection decarbonizer/ injector cleaning because of problems with the injectors sticking open said the service advisor. Thanks for you response though. I personally would of replaced the injector like you did as well.
