Nissan 2004 Xterra - sourcing part
Hi, from Canada, we purchased a used 2004 Nissan Xterra that had been owned / driven in US, appeared to be in great shape but upon attempting to get certified, discovered there is a cracked component that no dealer / parts service has been able to identify or assist with.
It appears to be part of an ABS sensor unit, possibly a “pinion flange seal”, (sandwiched between the pinion flange and the differential hub cover / housing). Having no luck so far finding this specific part in Canada. Trying to avoid having to buy the whole rear differential unit. Does anyone know what this part is called? And what the purpose of it is? Attached is an image with the part, in a couple of perspectives, one in particular showing the crack. Any insight is much appreciated, thanks kindly in advance. |

Nissan 2004 Xterra - identified part, need help sourcing
UPDATE; posted earlier that part was unknown. Now know it's the ABS rear wheel speed sensor.
The below picture is what it looks like, but this one is from the 2002 model and supposedly not compatible with the 2004 Xterra. Having a heck of a time trying to find this part... anyone out there familiar with this component? Thanks for any insight you may have. |
