Default Does TCM need to be re-booted

I had a problem with the converter staying locked up when coming to a hard stop.
I replaced the valve body. Having issues with acceleration, slipping and no upshift into top gear. Wondering if the TCM needs to be re booted or 'flashed'?
This is the RE4R01a transmission with the external TCM.

No..."flashing" the TCM was required on the Xterra until the 2005 models with the RE5R05A transmission.

Awesome thanks, I guess I screwed something up when I replaced the valve body.

Default Figured it out!!

So, I removed the battery cables for a day or two. Went back to put them on line and saw one of them was not in the best shape. So I replaced both cables.
After this I cranked it up and it shifts fine. Must have to re boot the TCM!!!
