Three different waning lights in array...
My 2000 Xterra 3.3L has 3 warning lights that have come on in last 2days. Have done timing belt, water pump, tensioner, plugs, new battery and more. the 3 lights are trans heat, battery and seat belt. Xterra runs great with no power issues. BTW, where is the code read connector? These lights come and go. Thanks for the input. MTG

OBD II connector is under the driver's side of the dash. The battery light is actually the charging system warning light and a faulty charging system could cause other warning lights to illuminate in error. I would start by checking the battery and cable connections and then the charging system voltage.

Found OBDII connector as described. Took to AutoZone but could not read from port. Did find that alternator is NG. Battery good. Is there a fuse that applies power to OBDII connector to interface with my 2000 Xterra?

If not mistaken, I believe the power to the OBD II connector comes straight from the ECM. There should be a diagnostic procedure for no power to the OBD II connector in the engine control section of the FSM; you may be able to find one in our "knowledge base."

Replaced alternator and all is well, albeit I still want to check OBDII problem in "knowledge base". Runs great, charges as should, but want to check for votes. Thanx for the help!
