2007 Nissan Xterra p0745
I'm getting the p0745 code. Iv drained the fluid and changed the screen. Still came up I drained and flushed the fluid. The bypass has been done there was no mixture of coolant and trans fluid. Iv read it could be a dropping resistor but do not know anything about it. Where it would be or what it looks like. Driving at 70mph I'm around 2700 rpm. It doesn't seem to affect the RPMs when I turn off the O/D. It will shift hard out of park when cold. Other than that it shifts smooth.

Dropping resistor wouldn't cause this. P0745 is a line pressure solenoid valve fault, which could have the symptom of a harsh 1-2 shift. If the fluid level is full and it's condition is clean, the problem lies within the line pressure solenoid, itself, which is part of the valve body, or, in its circuit (open or shorted wire or poor connection). Consult a factory service manual for testing details; you may be able to find the manual section you need in the "knowledge base" at this site.

I just read your previous post where you were getting a P0744 code, which is the torque converter clutch solenoid valve fault. Like the P0745, dirty or improper level ATF could cause this code, otherwise it's an issue with the solenoid, itself, or it's circuit. This would really make me want to concentrate on checking the harness and it's connections to the transmission valve body. Identify the harness connectors in the circuits (the two solenoids probably share the same connectors) using the wiring diagram in the service manual and check for water or corrosion inside of them. If they look good, continue with the diagnostic procedure for the P0745 DTC.
