Xterra crankshaft position sensor - not the fix
I have a 2007 Xterra with no problems until this week. I started it and the engine began running then went dead after about 15 seconds. The service engine and traction control lights came on and they will not go off. After that it has been very difficult to start. The engine turns over rapidly but will not always start. It will start after several attempts and runs fine after being started. It was computer diagnosed as a bad crankshaft position sensor using 3 different computers. The problems still exist after replacing the sensor. What could be the problem?

Could you please provide the current and previous engine code number. It will help us diagnose the problem.

Thank you. Both mechanics at two different places told me it was the crankshaft position sensor which would be code PO335. They did not provide the actual code.
