TSB NTB05-015b
Ok, so my questions are, once you or the dealer has performed TSB-NTB05-015b for the RATTLE NOISE FROM VIAS POWER VALVE
ACTUATOR / INTAKE MANIFOLD COLLECTOR...what are you supposed to do in the future if you ever need to replace the power valve? It will be permanently bonded to the intake manifold. Also, the actuator will be permanently affixed as well or can just that part be removed? If it can't be removed it would mean you would need to replace both the actuator and the intake manifold if the actuator failed. To me this sounds like a patch job and not a real fix. Any experience or thoughts from anyone on this? Cheers |

Update.
I took the power valve out on the weekend just to see what kind of job it would be. No big deal, easy enough. I could not see what I would do to eliminate the rattle problem other than having a new part with a better fit. I could see the plastic had some marks on it where you are supposed to apply the 3M adhesive. I had the approved 3M adhesive so I did the TSB. It solved the rattle. For dispensing the adhesive I used a caulking gun and a couple of deep sockets against 3M cartridge thing, rather than buy a dispenser for $75. |
