NIssan Xterra 2006 2WD Cannot Remove Rear Rotor for Wheel Stud Replacement
Hello world!
I've been trying to remove and replace some bad rear wheel studs on my Xterra.I have already done the obvious such as lifted my vehicle, removed the tire and the caliper assembly. I also have the the vehicle in neutral with blocks installed for safety. From all the instructional videos, seems like all I have to do is remove the rotor by hand as long as its not rusted on. Well, I'm obviously not lucky enough so I started hammering away on the rotor making sure I don't strike the studs or the smooth surface. No luck. I hammered the rotor in a circular fashion, still no luck. I noticed a rubber plug on the rotor that gives me access to two screws depending where I rotate the rotor. They seemed to be marked as to detect where the screw should be positioned. I didnt want to mess with that since I'm not sure what it does. THink is has something to do with the Parking lock but I'm not sure. The point is that the rotor isnt budging one bit. Please help. |

The only thing that I can think that can be holding the parking brake.

Is it possible that the hub needs to be removed as well?
