Default 2002 Xterra DTC P0328 P0335 P1336

Hi

Have Nissan Xterra 2002 with 101,200 miles, it has the Check Engine Light on, when I plug in the ODBII,it gives me three codes:

P0328 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit High Input
P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor Sensor A
P1336 Crankshaft Position

Downloaded the engine control PDF, now reading it.

Has anybody had any experience with these 3 codes at the same time.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Jose

I never had all three at the same time but try to concentrate more on the P0335 code, since it could be the reason the other 2 codes were triggered.

Well, Jose....I have the exact same problem. It seems to happen when driving in heavy rain but overall car drives ok and spent hundreds and techs and never gets fixed.

What did you do to fix it? Every figure it out?

Original poster signed in as a guest almost 10 years ago. I don't think you are going to get an answer from him. P0328 is a knock sensor code and unless you have a supercharged VG33ER engine, it doesn't affect drivability. If the engine isn't running right, it is likely setting because of the other issue. If it ran right without other codes, I would then suspect a faulty sensor or subharness and would suggest the knock sensor relocation fix, as the sensor otherwise requires removal of the lower intake manifold to access.

The knock sensor also doesn't affect drivability on the VG engines, as it is used only for ECM monitoring. Again, no drivability issues and I would suspect a bad sensor, which is located at the top side of the transmission bellhousing, With drivability problems, I would look elsewhere for the cause. A faulty distributor is usually the culprit in those issues, however, since you say it occurs in the rain, the most likely suspect would be a bad distributor cap or ignition wires. In either case, stick with genuine Nissan or NGK parts when it comes to ignition parts.

had same problem in heavy rain too....months of headache. was short in wire harness at plug. Nissan doesn't sell CPS plug anymore had to find at junkyard and buy whole harness to cut off only plug. it worked.
