X-Trail Cabin Filter
Hi everyone,
My X-Trail is 3 years old and I've never replaced the cabin air filter. Is this necessary? If so, where can I locate it? Thanks in advance. |

Actually you have to replaced the filter every 15,000 miles. That's what the factory recommends.
REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES 1. Remove glove box.
3. Take out in-cabin microfilter from blower unit. (See Figure 3) 4. Replace with new one and reinstall on blower unit. 5. Reinstall glove box. BTW The Xtrail manuals will be available to download tomorrow.

Thanks for cabin filter instructions
Just to thank you for the cabin filter instructions and images.
I've just changed the filter on my 2005 X-Trail here in Chester, England. The previous owner clearly hadn't changed it and strain on the heating system caused the heater fan resistor to fail last week. (Remembered to look on the LEFT side of the car for the glove box!!!) That's going to cost me UK£110 for the part! Very useful forum, I'll keep looking back here. Ruger22 |

The 2010 X Trail glove box is not so easy to remove. Has Nissan changed the position of the cabin filter? or, is there a different method to remove the glove box? Thanks.
