How do I clear Oxygen Sensor

Hello, My check engine light came on after only 26,000 miles. Mechanic changed battery and gas cap and sent me on my way in August. I failed my smog test recently because the oxygen sensor is not ready. Does anyone know what the drive cycle is to reset the oxygen sensor.
