Versa HB 2010 cannot open trunk
Hello! I'm new to this forum and new to cars.
The day my trunk would not open is when it was the hottest day of the week. I always use my trunk, but when I opened it in the morning it does not work. I can only open it from inside (emergency). There's nothing in the glovebox to turn the switch on and off. So I decided to take it to a local mechanic. The guy insisted it was the power and the lock problem. He tried locking and unlocking the doors, all doors work and can lock and unlock. Trunk stays closed. So what HE DID: NOW my trunk is now open 24/7. My key fob when I unlock the car there is NO beeping sound and the headlights do not come on. Locking and unlocking sounds super weak and there is no locking and unlocking sound coming from trunk. But inside, I knew it was an electric wire problem. What I noticed is that the keyfob and the power locks inside car all works on all doors and windows. There is no sound coming from trunk when locking and unlocking. Infront of the car underneath near the passenger side, there was a plastic flap that was loose, I closed it, I was able to open trunk. After a neighbour helped me screw the plastic area back, I'm not able to open the trunk anymore. What can I do to fix the trunk issue? Also returning the keyfob how it used to be. I'm not sure how latch and wires work. I have not check the fuse either. Thank you. Last edited by Serri; 05-26-2021 at 09:09 AM. Reason: Editing what happened |

- bump
UPDATE: I bought a new latch, it does not lock at all. First I tried to see if the latch locks without the wire, and it locks fine (automatically when it touches the metal hook). Once I connect it to the wire, it does not lock at all. No sound too. Is it an electrical issue? wiring? |
