P0740 - TCC Solenoid Malfunction - Shows No Signs
I have a 2001 sentra with the P0740 code, A/T TCC Solenoid Circuit Malfunction. My AT fluid is still red, doesn't smell burnt, and doesn't have any metal shavings, etc.. in it; the AT fluid last changed 40,000 miles ago. The car shifts fine, and shows no other signs of problems.
Can you guys help point me in the right direction before I take it to a shop. |

The solenoid may be sticking at times. I suggest resetting the light first. If the light comes back ON, then you may consider taking your Sentra to the shop for inspection.

the code comes back on instantly after it is cleared. It also generates a duplicate code when I take it out of park; this one makes the service engine light come on. so I have 2 P0740 codes.
Thanks, I'll have someone take a look at it. Last edited by fadetowhite519; 10-08-2008 at 09:10 AM. |

I also have a 2001 sentra with a p0740 code. I did clear the code and it comes back on as soon as you start the vehicle. The car does shift okay except for going into lockup and tacs at about 3000 running down the highway at about 70mph(not good on gas). I ran through the test procedure from alldata and it seems to be within specs, but it only test the circuits.
Anything else that I can look at? |
