Default gas guages

I'm new to the site and i wouldn't know if this has been discussed previously but i just recently purchased a 2000 sentra. It had half a tank of gas when purchased and by the time i decided to fill up the needle had dropped to about the 1/4 mark (leading me to believe the guage was working). After refueling the needle then set at slightly over the "full" line. i have driven over 50 miles and it has not moved. is this common? any help is greatly appreciated.

Until a Specialist replies...I wouldn't worry about it. My Versa sits on Full for many miles before it drops. As with my Versa, it may just a characteristic of your Sentra. BTW - Congrat's on your new ride.

It's a Nissan thing. Your good to go. My truck will go about sixty miles before the needle begins to move. All my past nissans did the same thing.
