Have the Sentra Manuals Still Stayed Reliable During the CVT Era?
I have a 2006 base model Sentra. It's a manual and it's been incredibly reliable. I'm well over 300,000 miles on the original everything. Seriously.
So, while I would like to eventually try for another 2006, I realize that finding a decent one that is also a manual is no small feat. I know that the CVTs from 2007 and on are really to be avoided. I was wondering if the manual transmissions, post-2006, have stayed the same though. If they have, then it makes me reconsider 2007 and up, in terms of reliability. As a hobbyist mechanic, I would recommend changing CVT transmission fluid at 20,000 mile intervals. And filter every 40,000 to 50,000 miles. Just my humble opinion.
