02 Sentra fluttering and power loss
My nephew recently bought a 2002 nissan sentra with the 1.8 / auto.
The car only has 155k on it, all highway from his sister. In the past, you'd start the car and it would flutter and run rough on start up for about 10 seconds and then clear up and run great, no problem. Code read a Cylinder 2 misfire, plugs were completely clean and no burning oil. Then one day on the way home from work, the car started to flutter badly and lose power. When he got home, he parked it, and the next day it would not start at all. I went up with a code reader, Crank position sensor failure. Replaced it, runs beautiful, starts easy, revs strong. My nephew takes it to work today.. Im selling this POS!.... Its fluttering and bucking when it down shifts or I accelerate. I'm at a complete loss! I took it for a good 10-15 minute drive the day I fixed it and it ran perfect. He works 45 minutes away and apparently something is heating up by then and failing. When its cold or even hot, the car idles smooth as can be. No stalling while idling. Going to pull codes and fuel pressure one last time. Any ideas on this? |
