LED DRL not turning on (after conversion from stock to LED)
Hi,
I have upgraded my headlights recently from stock to LED - 2010 Nissan Sentra. Low and high beam are working as expected (when turned on manually), but not Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) - they are not turning on (automatically when engine is turned on). This is the LED light in case this info is needed to help answer my question https://www.walmart.com/ip/Oslamp-Se...Cars/184930701 In fact, there is no dedicated DRL light (as it operates the same headlight), so it simply doesn't come on - for now, I have to use low setting during the day as well. Does anybody know if DRL is supposed to operate only one (of the 3) COB chip? There is no light flickering on low / high beam, no warning on dashboard. I don't believe my car has canbus because when I pulled out one headlight there was no warning on dashboard. Is there a way to make DRL work? I did research and it appears that Honda / Lexus and European vehicles may need decoders / load resistors (see example below), but how can I check if this is needed in my case? https://www.walmart.com/ip/New-H13-L...oder/468338932 From my research it appears that DRL setting sends a lower voltage to the LED (e.g. 9V) as opposed to low / high beam (12V?) and that would be the reason the LED does not come on in DRL setting. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Thank you so much. |
