Default HELLPPPPPPPP Serpentine Belt replacement 2.8

Hello All,

I have a 2005 sentra 2.5 and the belt isn't getting onto the pulley even after using the wrench on the tension pulley. I seen that you an loosen the power steering pump to move the pulley but that was on a 1.8. Can anyone help w a walkthrough??

This is a Tip from Moderator mpe235 from a while back:

1. Pop the hood and locate the belt tensioner which is just below the water pump. Take notice of what I call the nipple with a hole (Nissan call it the Boss). When you find it, you are standing in front of bumper facing the drive belt. Pull the drive belt toward you and you see the boss move toward you also. Just to the right of that is another hole. You can practice until the two holes line up.

2. Have a short screw driver or Allen wrench 10mm may be bigger so long it will fit in the hole handy.

This is final operation. Pull the drive belt toward you until the two holes line up and insert into the holes whatever you have in your hand. If you need two hands to pull the belt then you need someone to insert the screw driver, etc into the holes. When this is done, the belt is loose and ready to remove.

3. After the new belt is properly installed, simply pull the belt toward you again to release tension, pull the insert out and release the belt and you're done.
