2011 Sentra 2.0 Serpentine belt change
Its time for a belt change. I did my 2006 Altima with a 2.5 but this Sentra is a tight compartment. Any suggestions on tools needed? What angle of attack and should I masking tape around it before threading it through and up (or down) between particular pulleys? Where is the tensioner release hex-bolt?
There is not a belt I can't change but I'd appreciate a technical tip from someone whose done this before. I prefer going in from the top, but realize is the space to work? ........FYI, Helpful to alldoing this sort of install, I do own a #105058 Serpentine Belt tool purchased from ipdusa,com......worth every penny. |

The tool you have is the key. Without the tool is very difficult. Here are the instructions from the service manual, that's exactly how I do it.

Thank you very much. This is great. Only one last thing.
I do have 2 remaining questions about the "suitable tool" for decompressing the auto-tensioner. A.) What size is the metric wrench? B.) In the diagram, Is that a "offset end wrench" like the following? ...I'd prefer to buy the specific offset wrench rather than a full set of offsets. |

A. I think is either 14 o 15 mm.
B. Yes. You could buy the one that comes with 14mm on one side and 15 the other side. I like Harbor Freight for some things: 8 Piece Metric Offset Box Wrench Set |
