The fuse (#36) for the license plate lights is in the IPDM (Intelligent Power Distribution Module). The IPDM is next to the car battery. See attached image

Default No Joy on Fuse 36

I pulled Fuse 36 and my tail lights went out. Put it back in, tail lights came on. Still no license plate lights. Bulbs were changed.

either the bulbs are bad, the sockets are bad, or a wire is cut or broken.

Hi,
My licence plate light is not working. I have checked all the fuses and everything is good. I replaced the bulbs but did not work.
Also my LED break light on the spoiler works only when the head light is off. When the headlights (or parking) is turned on they go off.
I have failed state inspection and need help to fix these

Thanks.

check the wires near the trunk hinge. They break at the bend.

Did anybody ever find a solution to this problem. I just bought a 2007 sentra and seems to have the exact same problem. i have checked the same fuses as original poster and got same results.

I know there is no 12V up to a connector that on the trunk since i was able to follow the cable so i know there is no problem on the bulb or connector. Tomorrow if i have time i will try to follow the cable as far back as possilbe to see if i can find the problem.

I have found a manual for the car online and everything i find regarding the electrical and fuses tie the parking lights with the license placetes but the parking lights work correctly along with the rest of the electrical system.

I replaced bulbs and checked fuse #36. It turned out to be a bad ground wire in my trunk. Here's the youtube video that showed me how to fix it.
