Default Fails to shift, P1441.

2001 Sentra will fail to shift at all until it is warmed up, shut off, and restarted. Occasionally, it will fail to shift after being shut off for a short period of time (rest stop on the interstate) until it is shut off and restarted.
No check engine light or service engine soon light, but P1441 code found.
While I resolve the evep emissions code, does anyone have any ideas about the failure to shift?

Start by checking the transmission fluid level and condition? When was the last time you service the transmission?

Default failure to shift - solved

After the wife spent thousands at various shops, and the best transmission guy I know (and I know quite a few) was stumped by this one, I fixed it myself by replacing the battery. You'd think somebody would have figured out a voltage issue might effect a computer controlled transmission...
btw, the evap emissions code went away with the new battery, and never came back.
