2011 Sentra Noise - Anyone else? Any ideas?
I have a 2011 Nissan Sentra SL. I only have 600 miles on my car and have mostly been doing city/in-town driving but have noticed a weird noise after driving on the highway for awhile.
Symptom: After driving on the highway for awhile and then back on neighborhood streets, I hear a rapid clicking/chirping noise from the front-end area and perhaps the front wheel. The noise accelerates and slows down based on my vehicle speed. When accelerating the sound goes click-click-click-click more rapidly and then slows with the car slowing down. However, once I return home and park the car and take the car out the next day, the sound is not there. It only returns if and when I go and drive on the highway for awhile. I took the car to the dealer but the noise was not happening at the time so thgere was nothing they could do. Has this happened to anyone else, and, if so, how did you resolve it? Thanks! Jeff Y. |

If you car is equipped with TPMS, then check the sensor on one or both of the front wheels. Maybe it''s not sitting properly and clicking against the rim. It's obviously something to do with the wheel revolutions as you said the sound goes according to the speed of the car and it is probably happening only after highway driving because the heat might be causing the loose connection of the sensor -
Just a longshot but might be worth checking out. |
