2002 Sentra First Cylinder Not Firing
My 2002 Nissan Sentra has an irregular idling. Plugs and ignition coils were replaced. The injectors were serviced. Engine error code P0335 registers on the display.
Coil and Plug number 1 are not working. No sparks at all when the engine is running. Engine is therefore running on 3-cylinders! Fuel consumption has obvoiusly increased as a result. What do I DO please!!! Anyone please give me some useful suggestions. |

Check timing, also check that the ECM is switching the coil on. Compare voltages with the other coils. 1 wire should have batt volts, another is the switching ground and the other as the ECM reference voltage. Double check in the knowledge base under ec for code p335.

Thanks a whole lot.
I'll try these recommendations and let you know of the results. (Hope it is not an ECM fault) I really appreciate your assistance. |

Hello.
Just want to give you an update about the problems with my Sentra. Tests confirmed continuity to the ECM. However ECM not switching the 1st coil on. Idling still erratic and haven't found a replacement part for the crankshaft sensor yet though I hope to find one soon. Is there a way to get the ECM firing up the first coil again or is does it really need replacement? |

If your car has the P0335 code, that means the Crankshaft Position Sensor has malfunctioned. Replace this part: 23731-4M50B
