Default Dipstick

My wifes 2000 sentra's dipstick handle broke off and the stick I can't reach.Been some months past.Can I drop the oil pan and retrive it?Thanks

Yes, by removing the oil pan you will have access to the dipstick.

You can do that if you have alot of extra time on your hands or you can spend about 1 minute using compressed air. Remove the hose from the air cleaner to the valve cover. Use a blow gun with a rubber tip attatched to and air compressor and blow air into the valve cover. The dipstick will shhot out of the tube. Keep your face away from the tube. I have had some dipsticks hit the cieling in the shop.

Removing oil pan from sentra that is big job.
I wish I knew about that air pressure trick.

I had my broken, so I cut the top of the tube with dremel and removed throu the cut. It was not very easy and took somthing like 1 hour.
