Low MPG in winter
Got a 2016 Rogue. I have notice this winter that my MPG went down to 19 when heat is turned to Max. I'm in Oklahoma. So I don't have to turn heat up that high all the time in winter. When I don't turn heat up, I can get close to 30 MPG.
The last week, with air condition on full blast for a week, my MPG was @ 29. Something is not right. Does Rogue have a special heater in addition to the engine itself? |

The a/c runs whenever the heat is blowing on defrost or the floor. You will get lower fuel mileage in cold temperatures. That is normal. The vehicle will consume more fuel when the engine is cold. It takes longer for it to warm up. A cold engine runs rich (more fuel). Also cars usually idle longer in winter as people warm them up before driving. All of these things use fuel.
