Default unexpected discharge

My battery will intermittently become discharged. The battery is good, the alternator is new. All the fused circuits have been checked. It sounds suspiciously like the sudden discharge caused by a bad diode in the alternator, but this is apparently not in the alternator.

AH hA!! Another Arkansas native! Welcome to the forum! :)

Sounds like you have a real tough situation on your hands. I am assuming you have not altered your electrical system in any way correct? If you have not replaced anything within the last 3-6 months, I would say the alternator is going bad or the battery.

I would also assume both battery and alternator would pass testing with a diagnostic computer if the battery discharges randomly. You said the alternator is new? How new? Give us as much history and information as possible.

Again, welcome to the forum!
