07 Quest P040 code and TLS/slip etc
07 Quest w 104k, has been hard starting (usually wont crank on first cold turn but always goes on 2nd try) but I'd thought that was a fuel filter issue and since its in the tank was not about to pull. Think is it separate to this anyway.
So got home from business trip and wife/son complaining that van not right CEK and TLS off/slip lights all on.
Plugged in my OBD reader and got two P0340 camshaft circuit A sensor bank 1 or single sensor codes. Engine seemed to run ok, took for a spin and immediately noticed transmission slipping badly in Drive, does not seem to do it in reverse? checked fluid, a bit low , added a pint. Cleared codes, all lights off and tried again, slip still there in D. and quickly CEK, TLS/Slip lights returned. engine starts and runs but stalls after a few minutes idle. Read enough to understand that I should prob replace both cams and the crank sensors but my question is can those actually cause the tranny to slip?
