Default How to replace engine ecm on 2000 nissan quest gxe

Where is ECM on 2000 Nissan Quest GXE. I have read 3 different locations on internet. Do I have to have it reprogramed? Nissan site by vin number says it is 2371m-7b07re. Can this cause radiator electric fan to stop working after car gets to normal temperature in town with ac running?
Thanks

I think you mean 2371M-7B070RE? That would be the part number for a remanufactured Nissan ECM. It will be behind the glove box, just below the passenger side air bag module. See link:

If you are purchasing a genuine Nissan remanufactured ECM, it should come programmed with the ECM software. However, if you have transponder type keys, they will need to be registered to the ECM after it is installed by a Nissan or Infiniti dealer or a locksmith that has the equipment to do so. The ECM does control the electric cooling fans for the radiator, but I've never heard of one doing what you describe. Normally, if there is an ECM issue, it will fail safe mode to run the fans at full speed at all times. You could send your ECM to a place that repairs them and have it checked out and, if needed, repaired, which may be less expensive and possibly save you from having to re-register your keys. Circuit Board Medics is one such place.

Yes, I left a 0 out of it. Your numbers are correct. I am beginning to think the heat sensor went bad again, or one time a wire in the harness to the fan shorted out.
Thanks
