2002 Nissan quest SE still overheating
So I have a 2002 Nissan quest SE that's over heating and we have changed the thermostat and that didn't help it and flushed the radiator and checked the cooling and the fans work fine and we even changed the water pump so now we're at a loss as to why it's still over heating what could it be now

Does the cooling system looses coolant? if it does, then the next step is to perform an compression test or leak down test to check the head gasket. Also, it's possible that you may still have air in the system.

I worked on a 2007 Maxima that would overheat at stops and slow speeds. The fans would work, but one of them was noticeably turning slower than the other fan. Replaced the fan motor on the slower fan and problem was fixed. So, you may just want to take a closer look at the fans, even if they do appear to work.
When it overheats can be a clue to your problem. At highway speeds, the fans aren't really necessary as the air forced through the radiator cores should be sufficient to cool the coolant; fans are used to help airflow at low or no speed conditions. If the overheating is at highway speeds, I would suspect blocked air flow through the A/C condenser and radiator cores (check for debris stuck between them, like leaves), an internally restricted radiator or even a bad head gasket, although that's pretty rare on these particular engines. If it happens at idle or slow speeds only, then I would double check those fans. |

Well the fan does fine and they did a test when we picked it up from the shop but is still over heating

You could have a coolant sample analyzed and see if the results show high hydrocarbon levels, which would be an indication of a failed head gasket. Does it overheat while just idling and at slow speeds, or does it do so while driving on the highway, too?
