spark plug tube seals prone to leak?
hi. like the title says, I'm replacing the valve cover gaskets and was wondering if the plug tube seals leak & need replaced. just found out they're formed into valve covers & would need to buy new covers if so. are they something that's not really an issue or do they tend to leak after awhile? also doing plugs at the same time.

If you have the plastic valve covers, yes, they are non-serviceable. As with any rubber part, they have the potential to leak, but it's not a common problem on the VQ engines. The good news is that they aren't "real expensive" from Nissan and I believe they are available on the aftermarket, as well. It's really a judgement call on your part if you already removing the valve covers to replace the gaskets, unless you remove the spark plugs and find oil has leaked into the well(s).
