Interior Lights not working
Has anyone solved the problem with the interior lights not working in a 2004 Quest? I don't think that I am the only one experiencing this problem. I have no interior lights working, no fuse labeled "dome" (or anything like it) and don't seem to have any bad fuses. It does not matter what setting the switch is on. Everything on the dash is working and the dimmer switch does work for that. Please help!

The interior light are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). Check the fuse for the BCM. If the fuse is OK, then try to disconnect the car battery for about 10 minutes to reset the BCM. If resetting the BCM doesn't work you may have to replaced it.

Interior Lights
Thanks for the info. I have tried the fuse for the BCM and have also tried disconnecting the battery. I guess that means it is time to replace it. Is this something that my husband can do? Where would it be located?

I had the opposite problem where my interior light (dome) wouldn't go off. I opened each door one at a time and pressed by hand the little switch at each door to see if it would shut the light off. When I found the problem one( it was the slider) I adjusted the little screw below the switch and it fixed the problem. Maybe you need to tighten that screw at one of the doors.

It's located behind the center, upper-dash, triangular cover and you'll need to have the keys programed after you replace it or the vehicle will not start.

For all the people having issues with dome light and clusters I figured out that Nissan has a common issue with the BCM or Body Control Module. It appears that there is a factory defect that overheats and burns the circuit creating a potential fire hazard. I contacted Nissan with my findings but they refused to hear it. However here is the fix. The solder for the black plug gives up and melts the connector. Open the BCM and remove the old solder from the burn joint and resoder. Then replace the harness connector from a donor car/junkyard, if not an option remove the pin and glue a new one as the connector will not hold the new pin. Now for the wire that it's burnt up gage from the connected to the node/split. That should take care of the issue and keep you from buying a $500 BCM, by the way I heard this is also common in the Altima.

Hi. Sorry for the necronpost, but do you know how to remove the bcm? Is it the white box under the drivers side storage compartment?

If I recall correct it was a small black plastic box under the drivers dash next to the parking brake pedal. You will have to remove the fuse panel along with part of lower section of dash. It is a bit uncomfortable to reach.
