DIY: Cabin filters pictorial guide
This is for 2005 Quest. Just like other DIYs say the trickiest part is to realize where the filter door is. The second hard part is to install the upper filter. The key word here is "patience". Just keep doing it and after attempt #26 you will succeed
Enjoy the fresh air. The old filters were completely

Does anyone know how to remove the in-cabin filter on a 2012 Nissan Quest? I have not been able to locate it even though the window sticker says it has one. I have the CD service manual but it only shows the drawing, no text as to the R&R procedure. Thanks for any help.

I just did mine on an '04 - which I assume is the same thru '09. Mine was just like the pictures above except you also have to remove the BOSE amp mounted flat in front of you - it blocks access to the filters slightly.
What a pain in the ***. Whoever designed this OBVIOUSLY did not plan the filter removal/installation from the start (it was pretty funny actually). The filters were definitely an afterthought. Getting both out was easy. Putting them in? Not so much. The bottom one in was relatively easy. The top one kept getting stuck 3/4 of the way in on the internal plastic edges. I had to trim EVERY piece of extra cardboard off the edges to get it to finally cram in there. It is an embarrassingly stupid design. They didn't have enough room to make it "one" filter so they split it up into two - I would guess they were up against deadlines and rushed it. |
