300,000-Mile Spark Plugs: Worth the Risk?
I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra, base model, with around 305,000 miles on it. No driveability issues, and it's been incredibly reliable, in general.

Maybe too reliable. On a recent visit to the shop, I was talking to the owner and it dawned on me: I don't think I've ever had the spark plugs changed, as crazy as that sounds. If I had changed the spark plugs, it was probably a couple hundred thousand miles ago.

So, should I even risk changing them now? I've heard of "frozen" plugs, and that seems like an obvious possibility here.

Could you attempt to remove spark plugs, find that they're frozen, and then back off? Or, is there a risk in even trying to unseat spark plugs that are this old and potentially frozen?

I'll be honest with you. A part of my question is posed in that I don't want to stress my poor mechanic out with even putting him in a spot like that.

I'm kinda ashamed that I even have to post this topic, cause I am always checking everything else on the car, nearly on a daily basis. I guess I took the spark plugs for granted along the "out of sight, out of mind" blindspot.
