Driver-side Door and Window issues

Hello all,

I searched briefly and did not see a thread so please direct me to one if it exists.

My driver side door will not fully unlock and so it will not open. When I try to unlock the door, the little lock indicator on the inside door handle will not go fully to the unlock position.

Also, my driver side window will roll back down half-way when I roll it up, or it will get stuck when it is fully down. In both cases for the window, it seems to be only when using the auto function. I just had the motor replaced by the way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: 2004 350z roadster.

Window: either the glass mounting bracket or motor assembly mounting bolt(s) is loose.
Door Lock: either the cable come loose or the door handle issue. The door handle has a small rod (may be 6mm) connected to the door lock assembly.

My description of the door handle is based on my Altima because I just replaced the driver side door handle. The part you hold to open door just sheered off cuz its plastic.
To do inspections you will have to remove the trim panel. If door panel has arm rest that has the buttons for windows, etc., you will have to remove that first. The procedures I think is in Body Manual in the Knowledgebase at the top menu tab. Even if not the same model year as yours but it should be relatively same. Or search on Youtube for videos regarding window removal/replacement or door handle replacement for your vehicle. The procedures for trim panel removal, inner panel removal, window removal are the same. Good luck.

Hey bennyb53,

I got it back from the mechanic today. They reset the window motor which SEEMS to have fixed it and yes, it was the cable for the inner door assembly which was the issue. I had it carefully rigged with zip ties (I know) but it turns out when they installed the new window motor they cut them off and re-rigged the cable. >.<

They ordered a new assembly and that will be replaced soon. Thanks for the response!
