2002 Pathfinder Manual Transmission Questions

Greetings,

I have a 2002 Pathfinder SE 4wd with a manual transmission, ~88k miles. I replaced the clutch about 2 years ago (28k back) due to a bad throwout bearing. It ran well until a couple months ago when I started to notice a noise that's not quite grinding and a little vibration in the clutch pedal when it was depressed. It was (and still is) sporadic, mainly occurring when the vehicle is warm. Recently, it has also become harder to shift into third gear and now sometimes even second. Two questions - 1) Any ideas what the problem might be? 2) Is there a synthetic fluid that meets API GL-4 that might limp along an internal problem, or will replacing the fluid make any difference? I bought Mobil 1, but after reading earlier posts and taking a good look at the bottle (it's API GL-5) I'll refrain from using it. From a point of intellectual curiosity, what's the difference? Thanks!

Is it difficult to shift into reverse? If you change out the oil use Manual transmission fluid only or similar. It maybe you have a clutch issue again.

It's not difficult to get into reverse; it seems normal most of the time. It might be the clutch, but other than the vibration there's not much change. I'll keep it in mind, thanks!
