Question Shift lock release

2003 LE. The shift lock release started to fail intermittently. Now it has given up completely. Having to use manual release. Suspect shift lock solenoid. Looking for OEM part numbers. Anyone know of a good web site with Illustrated parts list?

Check if the stop lights come ON when you press the brake pedal. Most likely the problem is the stop light switch.

Has anything been spilled on the shifter area (cofee, soda etc.)?

Did you check to see if the power was getting to the connector when you had it off

I did make an attempt. I do not have any wiring schematics and I am not a good spark chaser. No I could not find pwr at the solenoid, also couldnt find it at the park brake switch or brake pedal switch. Fuses all check good and brake lights good. Think its my lack of electrical experience.

Hi, I have the same exact problem on my 2003 Pathfinder LE. I had it a part today, and everything look good except the solenoid will not move the rod to unlock the shifter when I press the brake pedal., not even the click sound that you normally hear. So I came to conclusion that the solenoid is bad. I also need the part number for the solenoid if anybody here has one, or where I can buy one. Thanks.

Nissan wanted $120 for new solenoid. Went with after market part from Halsey Imports, $40. Will post the P/N after I pick it up tomorrow. Nissan dealer near me is not cooperative at all. They want you to bring it in and let them take care of it.

Default Part Number for Shift Lock Solenoid

Any chance you could post that PN?

I've got the same problem.

Thanks,

SD
