Default 98 SE no start in damp conditions

This one is killing me, 98 pathfinder 145k on it. refuses to start in damp or rainy conditions with no obvious reasons. Cranks over no problem but no fire. Cap wire and rotor have all been replaced by mechanic but did not solve problem, and therfor he is stumped. All connections are in tact, distributor and ALL wires and connections regardless of location have been treated with "Wire Dryer" and problem stil exists. Tachometer shows no sign of movement during cranking leading me to believe it is a pick up sensor problem, but there really isnt any way that moisture can get in and cause this problem. PLEASE PLEASE help out with this one. Thanks in advance.

run ecu codes.. that may give you a clue.. otherwise you have a short or a bad ground somewhere. spraying stuff on it may/will not fix connectivity problem.
