Cat-conv....A/F sensor issues
Hey everyone...wife and I just bough a used 06 pathfinder. Someone had cut open and emptied the 2nd set of catalytic converters, which was causing an exhaust leak. SO, we bought new cats form western exhaust on E-bay and I replaced them. They didnt quite fit right so I took it to Midas and they heated and bent them to fit properly. However, I had to replace one of the A/F sensors cuz i was too rough with it during the cat change and damaged the ceramic. Then it started giving the code for the other A/F sensor so I replaced it as well. So in all I have replaced both banks sensor 1. ANYWAY, I finally got everything sealed and the sensors replaced, BUT it's still giving codes for A/F sensor 1 on both banks. I am positive that there are no leaks. OH, also, I had to replace the bank 4 coil when the first A/F sensor went bad, due to the extreme misfires it was causing, and now, occasionally I get codes for misfires in cylinder 1. I am at a loss...anyone have any idea what to do here?

The bad ignition coils were more than likely the reason why the catalytic converters failed and may have also damage the A/F sensors. I recommend replacing the #1 coil, clear the code and drive your vehicle for a few days.
