Default Control Arm Failure

My son sent me this. Though this is an unmarked year Sentra, this sounds like it's a bigger Nissan issue. I tried Googling it and looked on Snopes with no hits so this may be more fake news. If anyone has knowledge of this being real or fake and if real, does it effect our PFs, please share. Thanks.

It doesn't provide a whole lot of information. It sounds like possibly the ball joint broke, but that's just an educated guess. I haven't heard of any similar issues and since you are driving a completely different model, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. I'm an Admin at TheNissanPath.com which focuses on Pathfinders and I haven't heard of any control arm issues from the R52 Pathfinder members.
