Default Nissan Pathfinder 2001

I have 2001 Pathfinder 2WD with Auto transmission.
From last couple of months, some time when I put the gear to 'D' car did not move, I need to press the accelerator bit more to move the car. It feels that hand break is pulled so that car is not moving. I visited a small workshop, the mechanic put the car on jack and try to move the front wheel but it was like jamed wheel, while no hand break was applied at that time. Then mechanic told me that CYLINDER ASSY-BRAKE MASTER need to be changed. This is an expensive item. Is this the correct solution or there could be other reasons.
I will be thankful for any advice

Usually this is caused by a seized brake caliper piston or pads that are badly rusted into the caliper bracket. Seized caliper slide pins or an internally collapsed brake hose can cause this as well.
