Nissan Pathfinder 2000
So my lady has a Nissan LE yr 2000. Currently she experiencing a jerking during the and deceleration times when she is driving. A local mechanic told her that it could be
Breather Hose runs from throttle to air flow meter has cracks in it -- huge hose that cannot have cracks in it to work properly $455 Will need new Belts soon, all are cracked $162[/COLOR] We are not comfortable as if this is the only issue or even the issue that may begin fixing the issue.. The hose that runs from the throttle body to the MAS is called the intake air duct. If it has splits in it that are allowing unmetered air (unmetered because it's bypassing the mass air flow sensor), the ECM will have an incorrect reading of how much air is entering the engine and will not be able to properly calibrate how much fuel to inject into the engine, creating a lean condition and potential misfiring and/or surging. So, if this is what is happening to your vehicle, you need to replace the intake air duct. You may be able to temporarily fix it by wrapping electrical tape around it to block the leaks.
