Default 2002 pathfinder running rough and stalling

Hi can anyone help me with this problem... my pathfinder is constantly running rough and stalling. At first I though fuel problem so I changed the filter. Then thought maybe spark so I changed plugs and leads... now I've just spent $700 at the mechanics to have the distributor replaced and it's running worse than ever. I'm at my wits end this is my family car to take my kids to school and daily drive but I cant keeo driving it like this stalling at 60 and 70 km an hour. Car is auto trans and mechanic cant find any fault codes.

I'm guessing you are not in the US? I ask because 2002 Pathfinders in the USA and Canada have VQ35DE engines, which don't have distributors or spark plug leads. The last year for the VG33E in the US is 2000, which did have those parts.

If the engine is a VG33E and it runs worse since you replaced the distributor, you may have gotten a bad distributor or it wasn't timed properly. Non-genuine Nissan distributors can be hit or miss; some are good but the quality control of most isn't good and many don't last long or are bad out of the box. The basics should be checked; make sure the fuel pressure is 34-36 PSI when running (again, assuming it's the 3.3L) and around 45 PSI static pressure. If the secondary ignition system is good, other possible causes are dirty or bad fuel injectors (not uncommon on the 3.3L) or possibly the timing belt has jumped a tooth on a gear. Timing belt should be replaced every 6-years/105,000 miles on the 3.3L.
