Default Vdc off / slip

I recently had a wreck in my 2005 pathfinder, when I drove it home from the shop where it was repaired, the VDC OFF / Slip lights were NOT on.
I noticed that the steering wheel was not centered as I drove straight so when I got home I took off the drivers side airbag and noticed that the steering wheel had been put back on a few teeth off of center.
I removed the steering wheel and put it back on in the correct position.
It runs and drives great, but now the VDC OFF / SLIP lights are on and I have tried the fixes that I can find. I've been driving it like this for several months.
Could this be related to something I did with the steering wheel or just a coincidence?
Thanks alot.

Steering angle sensor probably needs to be calibrated.
