2005 pathfinder oil pressure issues
My 05 pathfinder has had 3 oil pumps installed and a oil sending unit. If it sits and idles the pressure is fine, but once you start to drive it, the pressure drops and it starts to knock.
Help!??? |

The only thing I have seen causing that problem is a blown gasket behind the timing chain cover.

I had the timing chain replaced a few years ago.
Is there a chance it could be the cam sensors or cam shaft itself? |

Sensors nor the camshaft would cause low oil pressure. As mentioned, it's usually the gaskets on the rear timing cover. Excessive main and rod bearing clearance could do it, as well, but I've yet to see it occur on a VQ40DE engine.

Will this be hell to fix? Like engine out?

I know the front cover and timing set and oil pan have to be removed to replace it. I don't think they pull the engine, but they "may" have to lower or remove the front axle if it's 4x4. Maybe someone else has more info on the job.
