Default Battery size question

My OEM battery for my 2012 Path Silver is a group 24F. The recommended replacement is a group 35, which is a bit smaller. All the major battery brands point to a group 35 size. The group 35 looks like it will fit. Any one else go from a group 24 to a 35?

The 35F battery is larger.

The 5.6L engine uses 24F (550 CCA) battery and the 4.0L engine the 35F (640 CCA) battery. I'm not sure why your Pathfinder had the 24F, but you should use the 35F.

A Group 35 is a physically smaller battery than the 24F. I got two, R51 Pathfinders and a D22 Frontier and I'm running Group 24's in both of them (24F in the Pathfinders and 24 in the Frontier). I would recommend sticking with the Group 24F. The biggest issue I find is that a lot of the battery posts on aftermarket batteries, especially those made by Johnson Controls, seem to be made a little smaller in diameter than the factory battery and it can be hard to get the cable ends tight enough on them. You can get battery shims, but most of them seem to be a little too big for what you need.
