Default 2001 Pathfinder P1130 Swirl Control Valve

My 2001 Pathfinder is throwing P1130 error code. It behaves like a vacuum leak. Does anyone have a location and a pic of this part? The diagrams in the manual are not very clear on the location or really describe the part.

thanks,

Tom

The swirl control valve, also referred to as the power valve, is a series of butterfly valves inside the intake manifold. This is controlled by the ECM via a number of components and several inputs. This diagram should help:

The Engine Control section of the factory service manual should help you in diagnosing the problem. Try looking in our "knowledge base" section. Follow the diagnostic steps for P1130.

thanks for posting the diagram...That gives me a better understanding of the system. I will also check the knowledge base. the ec manual does have a troubleshooting section on this system. That will also help.

I'll let you know what I find.

Vacuum leak!

I replaced the two vacuum hoses near the power valve actuator. One of the existing hoses was compromised and the other was suspect, so I replaced both and the car immediately began to run correctly.

thanks for the help!

Default 2001 Pathfinder P1130 Swirl Control Valve

On the NB vvt engine, does the cam cover have to come off to remove the oil control valve, or just the cover that the hard line and solenoid are attached to?

I just removed the top engine cover to access the vacuum hoses. You should be able to access the control valves at the front if the engine

P1130 I found the vacuum line between the tank and the swirl actuator disconnected dry and cracked. is there a service manual
procedure or advise for replacing this hose. one other thing .....The Swirl Control Valve Control Vacuum Check Switch on circuit diagram EC-26 shows this switch as normally open and closes when vacuum is applied. my switch operates in reverse of this
