I am still having the same issue with the rpm. I hate how the relearning don't give a chirp sound or blink to tell if it worked or not.

I lowered my rpm by turning the tps. MY Snap-on scanner is telling me there is a screw on the IACV valve. I do not see a screw on it. Someone help me with this.
I've done the relearns probably 20 times now. But the only one I cant get done is the IACV one. When it says in the step to hold the gas pedal for 20 seconds till the SES light comes and stays on? But the thing is I dont have any lights on at the moment. cluster is clear of lights. It comes on and it just doesnt stop flashing. It probably stays on for 2 seconds and flashes and 2 seconds over and over again. Is that what it means? |

I guess the issue is with the TPS or IACV that I just got. Not getting any SES light or any codes. :/ :angry: :/ If I follow this
Throttle Position Sensor NAEC0419 Throttle valve conditions Voltage (at normal operating temperature, engine off, ignition switch ON, throttle opener disengaged) Completely closed (a) 0.15 - 0.85V Partially open Between (a) and (B) Completely open (B) 3.5 - 4.7V I measure this by putting a wire into the TPS brow connector middle port. |

I just checked the service manual for your vehicle. There is no idle speed screw on the IACV-AAC valve. The idle is computer controlled via the IACV-AAC valve. Idle spec is 750 RPM +/- 50 RPM, so your Pathy is within specs. When idle is not in spec, an idle air volume relearn should be performed. You can download the "EC" Engine Control section of the 2002 Pathfinder factory service manual, which has information on how to check/adjust timing and idle and perform an idle air volume relearn; it's under "Basic Service Procedures." It is only in spec when I adjust the TPS by rotating it, otherwise when its at the middle orientation (meaning halfway rotated to reach either side) the idle is not at 750+/-50. I have to turn the TPS all the way to one side to get it just to 750 rpm. I suppose that's right, but then my issue still remains with the jumping jack of the RPM between 1500 and 2000 rpm.
Thats the EC I used to move my TPS back to spec b/c I had to rotate it the other way and it was at like .01 volts when minimum should be at .3 volts when completely closed. To stay in specs page 722, I had to rotate tps back to about .5 volts which gave me 1800 rpm at idle and engine normal temperature. It may just be the relearning that's killing me right now. It does tell me that the IACV relearn was complete, I used a friends Snapon Modisultra. It said it was complete but it may take more than 1 try if symptoms don't get better. I did it 3 times. Stupid thing is that the Throttle relearn does make the clicking noise when I turn the key off. Not sure what the ideal clicking operating noise is. |

Tried doing that bulletin, my scanner says test was completed. But still having that rpm spike at 1500-2000. I adjusted the voltage from the TPS to give me a 775 rpm while staying in specs on page 772 or 722 (whichever was the last page on the EC manual).

Could this be because the ECM is the wrong part number than what it should be?
I have a 23714 4W001 when it should be either 23710 5W511 OR 23710 6W100 based on the parts link Nissan USA eStore |

I doubt the ECM program is what's causing the spike, but, you can have a dealer reprogram the ECM to the most current version for your vehicle.

The bracket for the ecm doesnt match what it should be? I have no clue what to do next... dealer would be my next option.

Friend told me a bad O2 Sensor or CatConverter could be the problem. Is this possibe when CEL isn't on?
