Exclamation Power steering fluid

I have a 2015 pathfinder SL with only 6000 miles. Why is the power steering fluid low? There is a dipstick that it doesn't even come to and there is also a minimum and maximum mark on the container. The fluid barely touches the minimum mark. E-PSF is the recommended fluid, but is there any other that I could purchase from a local parts store. Thanks for any help.

most, if not all, manufacturers of fluids & lubricants have an application guide for their products by year & model
but the question remains: "Why is the power steering fluid low?"

You may want to take it to the dealer and get it checked out while it's still under warranty. As far as the fluid, stick with genuine Nissan electric power steering fluid, which runs about $16/quart. I'm not aware of any aftermarket options at this time.

Default E-PSF

Went to the nearest Nissan dealership and purchased the correct E-PSF for about $14 for a quart. It only took about an ounce or two to fill to max on the container. I've driven about 150 miles since and it"s still on the same mark. My thinking is that it came from the factory this way.

It's possible. Did you check the fluid level with the engine running?

It is about 1/8 inch above max with engine hot and running. Should I siphon down to max. There is still plenty of room in the container.

I wouldn't worry about it.
