Default 2005 Pathfinder parking brake shoe replacement

Hi All,

Planning on replacing the parking brake shoes on my Pathfinder but manual says "to remove the drive shaft"

See link

http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfind...hfinder/pb.pdf

This doesn't sound right, if anyone has replaced the parking brake shoes please clarify.

Thanks a bunch,

Gord.

I haven't done it, but my educated guess would be that it has something to do with the removal of the hub and ABS sensor assy., as the hub flange is kind of in the way of the parking brakes.

I found another thread that shows it can be done on a Titan without removing the axles. Therefore should be the same on a Pathfinder.

Parking Brake Shoe replacement - Nissan Titan Forum

Hopefully it works out :-)

Thanks for the reply,

Gord.

Let's hope so, but remember the Titan has a different rear suspension than the Pathfinder. Titan has the Dana straight axle whereas the Pathfinder has an independent rear suspension with CV shafts. Might be worth a search on YouTube.

I completed the Parking Brake Shoe replacement and it was an easy job. No need to remove the axle

Thanks for your input !!!

Gord.
