Default "No Data" for Throttle Position Sensor output at Idle

I adjusted my Throttle Position Sensor per the Technical Service Bulletin, but my OBD II scanner still says "No Data" for the throttle position when at idle. If I open the throttle, it puts out reasonable data.

If I rotate the TPS slightly clockwise while idling, it changes from "No Data" to "2%", or so, but then it is no longer set correctly according to the TSB.

Is this normal?

It's tough to answer because I'm not familiar with your scantool. The scantool I use is similar to Consult II and reads the TPS as a voltage, not as a percentage. Idle will usually be around 0.42-0.52 volt and will increase to above 4 volts at full throttle.

I had a similar problem. I forgot the fault code for the faulty TPS so please bear with me. All I had was a digital voltmeter to adjust the voltage on the new TPS I purchased from Nissan. I followed the instructions to the "T"on the service bulletin. I spent hours trying to adjust the TPS to specs with no success. I cleared the code on my OBD II and fault code still came back. So, I decided to put the old TPS back and put tried to adjust it the same method as the new one. I got the same results! Frustrating? Definitely!!!

This is what I did and never had the fault code again! I cleared the memory on the cars computer. It's been over a year and the car runs great!!! Knocking on wood!!! Hope this helps?
